KESALAHAN KONSTRUKSI KONSEP MATEMATIKA DAN SCAFFOLDING-NYA

Belajar matematika merupakan proses mengonstruksi pengetahuan dengan cara mengaitkan suatu konsep matematika yang satu dengan konsep matematika yang lain. Dalam mengonstruksi konsep matematika siswa sering mengalami kesulitan. Kesulitan tersebut seringkali tercermin dalam bentuk kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa. Adapun bentuk-bentuk kesalahan konstruksi konsep matematika meliputi: (1) pseudo construction, (2) lubang konstruksi, (3) mis-analogical construction, dan (4) mis-logical construction. Scaffolding yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi kesalahan konstruksi konsep matematika tersebut di antaranya: (1) environmental provisions, (2) explaining, reviewing, and restructuring, dan (3) developing conceptual thinking.
